Yes, it is backward compatible and works great where dex6 is required. It stopped my car from jerking into gear after driving with it for 200 miles. It’s way better for high temps too. I attached a pic showing that it’s also for use where dex6 is required!

Is Idemitsu ATF-HP the same as Castrol Transmax-J?
Castrol Transmax-J is only sold in Asia and Australia and Pennzoil ATF-J is not on the market at all (per Pennzoil). Castrol’s Multivehicle ATF and Valvoline Max-Life ATF supposedly meet the requirements of Nissan Matic-J, which is the same as ATF-HP from my research, but neither are recognized by Nissan or Subaru as a suitable replacement. Also, the Castrol Multi is only sold to shops in bulk, not consumers.
